Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information CVAlign collects, why, who it is shared with and the choices you have. If you have questions, email support@cvalign.cloud.
Information we collect
- Account details from Google sign-in: your name, email address, profile photo and a user ID. We never receive your Google password.
- Resume content you upload or type, job descriptions you paste, and cover letters you create.
- Subscription details if you pay: your plan, its status, renewal date, and the customer and subscription IDs from our payment processor. We never receive your full card number.
- Usage counts, such as how many AI optimizations and cover letters you used this month, to apply your plan's limits.
- Technical data sent with every request, such as your IP address and browser type. We use it to keep the service secure and to limit abuse.
How your resume is handled
When you import, optimize or export a resume, its content is sent to our server, processed in memory and sent to our AI processing provider (Hugging Face and the inference providers it routes to) to produce the result. Our server does not save your resume, job descriptions or generated PDFs after the request finishes.
Your current draft and saved resume versions are stored in your own browser (local storage and IndexedDB) on the device you use. Clearing your browser data deletes them. They are not uploaded to our servers.
How we use information
- To provide the service: parse and optimize resumes, write cover letters and create PDFs.
- To manage your account, subscription and plan limits.
- To prevent fraud and abuse and to keep the service secure.
- To show ads to Free plan users, as described below.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your resume content to train AI models.
Advertising and cookies
Free plan users see ads from Google in the Resume Studio. If you accept advertising cookies, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. If you don't, Google shows limited ads that are not personalized and does not use ad cookies. You can learn how Google uses this information at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad personalization at https://adssettings.google.com.
Pro and Premium users do not see ads. We do not use analytics cookies. Our Cookie Policy at https://cvalign.cloud/cookies lists every cookie and browser storage item we use, and you can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
How long we keep information
- Resume content: not kept on our servers after each request.
- Account, plan and usage records: while your account exists. Monthly usage counts are only needed for the current period.
- Payment records: kept by our payment processor as required by tax and accounting law.
- Rate-limit counters: held in memory for about a minute.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and associated records by emailing support@cvalign.cloud. You can cancel a subscription at any time on the pricing page. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.
Security
Connections to CVAlign are encrypted with HTTPS. Access to account records is limited to our server, which verifies your sign-in on every protected request. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
CVAlign is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will give notice on the site or by email.
